Net Zero refers to the removal of all greenhouse gasses (GHGs) – such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane or sulfur dioxide – across the entire supply chain. It is often used interchangeably with Carbon Neutral which only addresses the removal of carbon and is often limited to one part of business operations. Both approaches rely on finding ways to reduce emissions. This balancing practice is known as carbon offsetting and could involve planting new trees or investing in renewable energy.
